SUMMARY:25th Congress on Isoprenoids
DESCRIPTION:The 25th Congress on Isoprenoids\, originally scheduled for 2020 in Karaganda (Kazakhstan)\, and postponed because of the worldwide COVID19 outbreak\, will be held on 18-20 September 2024 in Naples\, Italy. \nThis Conference series\, started at the early 1960s\, is one of the longer-running scientific events focused on natural products. The main purposes of the Conferences on Isoprenoids throughout these sixty years have been to promote research in the isoprenoid field at the interface of chemistry\, biology\, and medicine\, with a great attention to industrial applications. The role of science is to contribute to the human progress and to overcome barriers. To this aim\, the Isoprenoid conferences facilitate the networking and cooperation between researchers from different countries and provide a forum for the exchange of knowledge among scientists at all career stages in a friendly environment. \nAll the previous Conferences in this series have been organized in Eastern Europe countries; thus\, this is the first time that Italy hosts this event. SUMMARY:Chemistry\, a lever for sustainable development of African countries
DESCRIPTION:Annual Days of Chemistry of Senegal & 9th FASC Congress (FASC|JACS 2024)\nSenegal will host the African Chemical Societies for the General Assembly of the Federation of African Societies of Chemistry (FASC). It will be held in conjunction with the Annual Days of Chemistry of Senegal (Journées Annuelles de Chimie du Sénégal – JACS)\, the major event of the Senegalese Committee for Chemistry (CSC)\, from 19 to 21 November 2024 at Radisson Blu Hotel\, Dakar Sea Plaza\, Corniche Ouest\, Dakar\, Senegal. The conference is themed “Chemistry\, a lever for sustainable development of African countries“. \n \nFASC|JACS 2024 will be jointly organized by CSC and FASC along with their partners among which are RSC\, ACS\, IUPAC\, OPCW and West African Society of Chemistry (SOACHIM/Senegal) and in collaboration with Senegalese universities. The aim of this conference is not only to bring together Africa’s scientific\, technological and industrial communities\, but also to rethink together a structurally sustainable development centered on mankind and its priority investments. Chemistry is heavily involved in solving problems of African societies linked to health\, energy\, environment\, water supply and nutrition\, and therefore plays a key role in the sustainable development of African countries.\nThe Covid 19 crisis revealed the fragility of African economies and the need for genuine policies of sovereignty in the fields of pharmaceuticals\, health\, food\, energy and more. \nThe following topics will be developed around the general theme: \n1.
