The 14th International Symposium on Macrocyclic and Supramolecular Chemistry (ISMSC2019), which will be held in Lecce, Italy on 2-6 June 2019.
The symposium will provide a forum to discuss all aspects of macrocyclic and supramolecular chemistry, and also topics on materials and nanoscience, following the spirit and style of the thirteen preceding conferences. It will also offer networking opportunities among peers, recognized leaders in the field, young scientists, and students.

Pierangelo Metrangolo welcomed his colleagues in his hometown Lecce, Italy, for the 14th International Symposium on Macrocyclic and Supramolecular Chemistry (ISMSC2019), held in June 2019. The Symposium covered a wide range of topics such as organic electronics, nanotechnology, biology, medicine, and materials science, in which supramolecular chemistry was the common tool for developing innovative materials, devices, macromolecules, nanovectors, etc. It showed forcefully how supramolecular chemistry is flourishing crossing traditional borders and moving towards new interdisciplinary areas of research at the interface between chemistry, medicine, biology, and materials science.
The symposium was attended by 712 scientific participants from 43 different countries. The program included two Nobel Laureate lectures, Ben Feringa and Fraser Stoddart, three Award lectures, 22 keynote talks, and 24 invited talks. A public lecture attended by 800 high school students was delivered by Sir James Fraser Stoddart who presented the world of supramolecular chemistry and the long scientific journey that has brought him to receive the Nobel Prize in Chemistry 2016.
