A community of scientists from around the globe, representing academia, industry, government, and NGOs will assemble to present and discuss cutting edge, unpublished research with other experts in the field. In appreciation of the multi-disciplinary nature of this growing field, the program includes a comprehensive vision of critical and emerging research areas. This conference will encompass nanotechnology research advances across the field of agricultural science, inclusive of food science, plants / soil, animal science, human health and disease, and address safe deployment of nanotechnology in these areas with a view to public perception and policy. Many fields of chemistry are highly relevant at this GRC, including Environmental Chemistry but also, Human Health, Green Chemistry, Organic and/or Biomolecular and Polymer and/or Materials.

IUPAC participation relates to project titled Guidance for Industry and Regulators on Assessment of the Environmental Fate and Risks of Nano-enabled Pesticides (project 2016-016-2-600) and for which the task group plans to hold a workshop to harness the unique group of expertise that is brought together by the GRC.

IUPAC support will contribute in particular to the travel expenses and subsistence of early career scientists from Asia or Africa.
