Description
The current Periodic Table contains 118 chemical elements, the “building blocks” of all matter. Just as the 26 letters of our alphabet make up many different words, so do the chemical elements come together to form the enormous diversity of substances that exist.
The idea was to design and display t-shirts for the first 20 elements of the Periodic Table. Our class number dictated the atomic number of the element we had to work with. We researched the necessary information (atomic mass, electronic distribution, classification, Table location, discovery – date and scientist, applications…). Then we chose appropriate materials to decorate our T-shirts accordingly. And so we ended our celebrations of the International Year of the Periodic Table that we owe to the Russian Dmitri Mendeleev – the collection of the first chemical elements – from Hydrogen to Calcium.
